Binance Executive’s Health Worsens Following Controversial Detention in Nigeria

While being held in Nigeria on financial crime charges, Tigran Gambaryan, who is in charge of crime compliance at Binance, is having serious health problems. A video that just came out shows Gambaryan having a hard time walking, which has caused a lot of people to protest his care. As Gambaryan’s health gets worse, Binance CEO Richard Teng has spoken out against the “inhuman” treatment and asked that he be freed right away so that he can get medical care. At Gambaryan’s next court date on September 4, his lawyer will ask for bail.

There is a disturbing movie that shows how Tigran Gambaryan’s health is getting worse while he is in jail in Nigeria for over six months. He is Binance’s head of crime compliance. The video, which shows Gambaryan having a hard time walking without the right medical help, has led to more calls for his release. Binance CEO Richard Teng called the treatment “inhuman.”

He was arrested earlier this year on suspicion of committing $34 million worth of financial crimes connected to Binance’s activities in Nigeria. Even though the charges are serious, worries about Gambaryan’s health have cast a shadow over the court case. His family says he has a damaged disc and other health problems that aren’t getting better, which makes it painful for him to walk.

At Gambaryan’s most recent court date on September 2, his lawyers made a new motion for bail, citing his worsening health as a major worry. Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on the other hand, quickly resisted this request, saying that the man’s condition was not as bad as was said, even though medical records given to the court showed that he needed surgery.

The video that went viral shows Gambaryan asking with jail guards to let him use a wheelchair, but they refused. Instead, he had to walk with a single stick because of how badly he was treated in jail.

At the next meeting on September 4, the judge will look at the most recent bail request. Gambaryan’s family and friends are hoping that this meeting will finally get him released so that he can get the medical care he needs so badly.
