Zetrix Shows Off Digital ID Verification for Chinese Living Abroad

Zetrix has released ZCert, a new and innovative service that makes it easy for Chinese people living outside of China to prove their digital IDs. This project wants to make electronic Know Your Customer (KYC) processes easier for foreign companies by connecting to China’s Xinghuo Blockchain Infrastructure. It will also protect user data privacy and security. In the near future, Zetrix wants to add other important papers to this service.

Zetrix, a blockchain platform based in Malaysia, has built a new service called ZCert that lets Chinese people living abroad electronically verify their identity. People can post their official digital identities on China’s state-run Xinghuo Blockchain Infrastructure and Facility (BIF) with this new service. This makes it easier for groups outside of China to verify these identities.

Xinghuo BIF is run by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and Zetrix is its foreign hub. Co-founder of Zetrix T.S. Wong said that ZCert will make it possible for new services to be driven by smart contracts, which will make it easier for Web3 platforms to follow current rules. He said that ZCert is a complete global digital ID answer because it combines Chinese digital IDs with Malaysia’s national ID, the world ID, and possibly future sovereign IDs.

Zetrix’s parent business, MY EG Services, and Malaysia’s research and development agency, MIMOS, worked together to create ZCert as part of a plan to create a national public blockchain. Zetrix has also started scanning Chinese driver’s licenses so that they can be checked internationally.

ZCert uses a self-sovereign identity model, which means that users decide what information they share and blockchain technology verifies that the names they share are real. ZCert makes sure that identity parts are real and haven’t been changed, which lets changes happen.

Even though digital identity solutions have their problems, Zetrix is dedicated to making its products better. The goal of integrating with Xinghuo BIF is to offer a range of services in Malaysia and other ASEAN countries, such as verifying identities and tracking goods across borders. In the future, Zetrix wants to add more important papers to its ID checking services, which will make the ZCert platform even more useful. The start of this service is a big step forward for cross-border digital identity verification. It also fits with Zetrix’s goal to use blockchain technology to make identification processes safe and quick.
