Vivek Ramaswamy Steps Down from DOGE to Pursue Ohio Governor Bid

Vivek Ramaswamy quit his job as co-leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), so Elon Musk is now the only person in charge. This move fits with Ramaswamy’s plans to run for governor of Ohio in 2026, showing that he wants to be more involved in politics. As Musk takes full control, DOGE’s goal to streamline federal operations continues. However, the commission faces challenges as it pushes for major changes to the way the government works.

He is no longer Vivek Ramaswamy, who was co-leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Elon Musk will now be in charge of the DOGE by himself. Ramaswamy, who was very important in making DOGE happen, wrote about his choice on January 20 and said he had faith in Musk and the team to keep the government working more efficiently. Many people believe that Ramaswamy is preparing to announce his candidacy for governor in 2026, based on the hints he made about his future plans for Ohio.

According to reports, Ramaswamy wants to run for governor of Ohio and said in his post that he had to leave DOGE because of his political goals. Ramaswamy said that he still supports President Trump and his larger goals as he gets ready for this new stage.

Now that Ramaswamy has left, Musk is the only person in charge of DOGE, the group that works to shrink the government and cut federal programs. The goal of the commission has not changed: to cut federal spending and make the government work better. Despite this, critics have criticized the commission’s work and filed lawsuits, citing its unclear methods.
The fact that Ramaswamy quit DOGE fits with his rising desire to run for office. His leaving means that he will be focusing on his campaign for governor instead, but it still falls to Musk to carry out the commission’s ambitious plans. DOGE’s future and the way it changes the way the government works will rest on how well it can handle how the public sees it while still cutting costs.
